15 pet battles with a Legendary pet to get through and 2 changing backline pets of varying rarity and type.
The rewards from beating each battle are quite nice, the xp gained if you try to use a carry pet leaves a lot to be desired.
Motivation
Most people I've spoken to about Tanaan fights find they can pretty much fudge a Howl Bomb combination with each fight.
I decided I wanted to try and beat each legendary pet with a single pet and then just fill my last two spots with pets that could combat the backline.
This is what I came up with!
